Zelienople

Alvin J. Stoker, 81, of Zelienople, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2024, at AHN Wexford.

He was born on January 23, 1943, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Alvin and Marie Klein Stoker. Al was an avid golfer, finding joy and camaraderie on the golf course. A loving father and friend, he was keenly interested in the well-being of others and had a knack for making people feel cherished. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, kindness, and unyielding spirit. Al was a man of unwavering faith. At Chippewa United Methodist Church, he was a member of the Men's Ministry, where he served as President for 3 years, a liturgist of weekend worship services, a lay leader, and organized several church golf outings with his late wife, Margie. Al was also a devoted member of the men's group at Passavant Communities and was involved in many other ministries there. He found great joy in reading scriptures for church, sharing the word of God with his community, and providing guidance to those in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Margaret "Margie" Stoker.

Surviving are his two children, Sheri Kauffman and her husband, Bill; and Todd Stoker and his wife, Sue; sister, Judy Balkey; four grandchildren, Brian Stoker, Matthew Hennig, Tyler Hennig, and Kyle Hennig; six step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and eleven step-great-grandchildren; dear friends, Pastor Rod Smith, and Joan Gibbs; and numerous friends whose lives he enriched with his presence and laughter.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday at 1 PM until the time of service at 1:30 PM at the Lutheran Senior Life Passavant Community, 105 Burgess Dr, Zelienople, PA 16063.

Professional services were entrusted to CORLESS-MATTER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, LLC, 1133 Church Street, Ambridge, PA 15003.

Al leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and shared experiences that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His unexpected departure leaves a void that will be felt deeply, but his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been part of his life.
