Anthony John Lugowski, 89, of Ambridge, died, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Beaver Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on January 7, 1932 in Ambridge, he was the son of the late John and Helen Stanuch Lugowski. Tony was a veteran of the US Navy Reserve and a lifelong member of the Good Samaritan Parish. He was employed at Armco Steel for 35 years before they shut down, followed by 10 years at Am-Gard Security at Pittsburgh International Airport. A loyal union member and born teacher, Tony enjoyed spending his mornings at McDonald's drinking coffee and catching up with his friends. He loved to remodel and build things and was just an all-around great guy to everyone that crossed his path.
Surviving are his loving wife of almost 60 years, Margaret Phillips Lugowski; two sons, Mark Anthony Lugowski, of Crescent and his wife, Michele, and Dr. David Michael Lugowski of New York City and his husband, Mark Goldberg; brother-in-law, Ernie Phillips, of Enon Valley; sisters-in-law, Carol Lugowski, of Hookstown, and Mary Phillips, of Florida; three grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Morgan Lugowski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lugowski; two sisters, Patricia Lugowski and Natalie Bionda; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday at 10 AM at Good Samaritan Parish, 725 Glenwood Ave, Ambridge, PA 15003.
