Aria Marie Perna, 97, of Ambridge, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Concordia Villa St. Joseph.
Born on November 01, 1925, in Ambridge, she was the daughter of the late Peter Paul and Teresa Tangredi Gatta. Aria graduated from Ambridge High School and attended Burroughs Business School after graduation she was a clerk at the Ambridge Water Authority. Aria also worked for Sears for over twenty years in the credit department where she was responsible for the business accounts. Aria was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Ambridge and a 60-year member of Woodlawn Chapter No. 164 Order of the Eastern Star. She and her late husband loved the sunshine and wintered in Vero Beach Florida for over twenty years. While in Florida Aria enjoyed yoga, ceramics and playing cards. She enjoyed baking and Nani, as her family called her, was famous for her homemade meatballs and manicotti.
In addition to her parents, Aria was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Louis Perna, Sr, her sister Dorothy "Dolly" Bull and her husband Donald Bull, her brother-in-law, Steve Furis and nephew Stephen Furis, and dear friend, Sonia Zondas.
Aria is survived by her sister, Rita Gatta Furis of Ambridge, with whom she spent twenty years in Vero Beach, Florida.
Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tina Perna, North Lawrence, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law Lou and Priscilla Perna, Hughesville, Pa. Grandchildren and great grandchildren Ben Perna and his wife, Dawn Klingensmith, Pittsburgh; Kate and Patrick Chapman and their daughter, Bella, Cleveland, TN; Tony and Erin Perna and their children Olivia and Archer, Orrville, Ohio; Matthew Perna, and his children, Donovan and Madelyn, Hughesville, Pa; Christina and Tom Ferritto, Uniontown, Ohio; Kellie and Gary Patz, Butler, Pa; Jamie and Jennifer Perna and their children, Joshua and Jillian, Atwater, Ohio. Niece and nephew-in-law, Dr. Carolee Bull and Jean-Philippe Fillettez, State College, Pa. Great nephew and niece-in-law David and Shelly Freedline and their sons, Jared and Hayden, Naples, Fl; Great niece and nephew-in-law, Kristi Lynn and Drew Mullins and their children, Paige, Annie and Alex, York, Pa and great niece, Aria Dawn Freedline, York, Pa.

Burial will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
