Dolores "Dee" H. Nieman, 95, of Brighton Township, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.
Born on March 28, 1926, in Cicero, IL, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Stehlik Horacek. Dee started her career as a Lab technician until she was swept off her feet by her late ex-husband Robert B. Nieman. They lived in many parts of the country - Chicago, Nashville, Seattle and finally Sewickley. They were members of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Sewickley and were involved in the community. She worked at The Sewickley Frame Shop for many years. In her younger years she was an expert bowler and won many awards for bowling perfect games. She taught art at DT Watson Home for handicapped children and was a member of a clown group that performed for charities and in children's wards at various hospitals. She loved to volunteer and be involved. Dee loved to golf and spend time gardening. She was a collector of many things and a true creative spirit; she was very artistic - she enjoyed painting, ceramics, and crafting.
Surviving are two sons, Howard (Moira Hanley-Nieman) Nieman, and Bob (Trish Potts) Nieman; daughter, Ann (Brian Smith) Nieman-Smith; seven grandchildren, Brianna Nieman (Wyatt Glennon), Alayna Nieman, Alex Nieman, Kristy Nieman, Bobby Nieman, Lucas Smith, and Spencer Smith; a great-grandson, Eamon Glennon; and nephew, Ed Horacek.
