Edward D. "Ed" "Edjel" Plucinski, 83, of Crescent Township, died Monday, February 15, 2021 at Caring Heights.

Edward was born on August 1, 1937 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Matthew and Marcella Bzdziak Plucinski. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He worked in the airline industry for over 40 years. He worked for Eastern Airlines, Allegheny Airlines, USAir, and US Airways as a Mechanic, Balance Check, and Planner.

Ed was very proud of his Polish heritage having grown-up on "Polish Hill" in Lawrenceville, where he met the love of his life "Cookie".

He was very well known for being a baseball coach for the Moon-Crescent Baseball Association, OLSH, and Center Fall Ball. When it came to sports, he was his children's and grandchildren's #1 Fan, following all their sports: baseball, cheerleading, golf, soccer, field hockey, ice hockey, cross country, basketball, track & field, softball, and wrestling.

Surviving is his wife of over 62 years, Eleanor "Cookie" Plucinski; four children, Christine (Tim) Glatz, Michaelena "Mickey" Plucinski, Edward (Mary Beth) Plucinski, and Timothy (Heather) Plucinski; eight grandchildren, Michael, Erica (James), Gregory, Gary (Fallon), Matthew, Katherine "Kat", Zachary, and Benjamin; and three great-grandchildren, Amber, James, and Jeremy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Plucinski; a sister, Theresa Plucinski-Morgan; and a beloved dog, Tigger.

A memorial mass will be held Friday at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2270 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Corless-Matter Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1133 Church Street, Ambridge, PA 15003, www.corlessmatterfuneralhome.com.

Private entombment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.

The family would like to give a special thank you for the loving care and kindness provided over the years by family, neighbors, and lifelong friends; as well as the home health aides and drivers, Phil, Henny, Joyce, Donny, and Jim; Dr. Chris O'Donnell and staff; The Rochester VA, and Tria DeNinno and staff; Caring Heights administration and staff, especially Maria and John for the daily joy they brought; and Vitas Hospice.

If so desired, the family requests that donations be made in Ed's name to the Felician Sisters Retirement Fund, 871 Mercer Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010, or Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School Athletic Association, 1504 Woodcrest Avenue, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
