Joan Wood

Joan Stacel Wood, 93, of Baden, passed peacefully away at her home of 67 years on March 31, 2022.

She was born February 17, 1929, the daughter of the late George and Janet (Andrews) Stacel.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Wood, of 69 years in October of 2018. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Janet (Castle) and Joyce (Hower); daughter-in-law, Linda (Smith) Wood; and a grandson, Jacob Wood.

Surviving are her 5 J's, John Wood, Judith (Dennis) Stonfer, Jayne (Jeff) Bach, Jim (Georgia) Wood, and Jeff (Fran) Wood; six grandchildren, Amy, Sarah (Stephen), Zak, Rachael (Carl) Baumcratz, Caleb and Nathan Stonfer, and Elias (Avery) Wood; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Joan was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed family dinners, baking, reading, walking, and completing crossword puzzles. She drove and delivered Meals on Wheels for over 30 years.

Joan was an active and devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church, Baden, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, and served on many committees.

Friends will be received Monday from 2-8 PM in the Corless-Matter Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1133 Church Street Ambridge, PA 15003.
