Our dad was not a complicated guy. What you saw was what you got. He loved his family, his dog Skol, the Minnesota Vikings, and The Rolling Stones.
He was not perfect, no one is. But he loved his family in the most perfectly imperfect way. He never stopped trying and he always showed up.
Never in a million years did we see him being the type to babysit grandkids, but every time we texted without fail we would get the response, "I'll be there."
He loved being "Pop" and he loved his grand kids so much. They will miss him greatly...and don't worry Dad-we know you didn't get to take them fishing-we will make sure they get to go.
Holidays, birthdays, and football Sundays will never be the same but we promise to keep your memory in it all.
