William James Turner, 69, of Ambridge, died peacefully Sunday, April 03, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
Born on January 30, 1953, in Columbus, MS, he was the son of the late John Henry and Ann Liza Stevenson Turner. William was a graduate of Ambridge Area High School before he attended boot camp for the US Marine Corp. He was saved at Tabernacle Baptist Church and loved being a mentor and sharing his testimony with many people throughout his life. He enjoyed BBQ's, family get-togethers, and playing basketball with friends, many of which he dunked on. Most importantly, William loved being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Surviving are three children, William Turner (Nicole Altman), Michelle Turner, Jamar Turner (Yessica Otero); ex-wife, Marcia Williams; beloved pet, Lady; several grandchildren, including his favorite granddaughter, Monet; two great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, John H Turner, and sister-in-law, Debbie Turner.
Friends and family will be received Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Corless-Matter Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1133 Church Street Ambridge, PA 15003. Online condolences at www.corlessmatterfuneralhome.com.
